Do you cut your cakes frozen or just regular? Any helpful hints in using it would be appreciated. Just got mine and do not want to destroy my cake or cut my fingers off. TIA

i just got mine and have only used it on unfrozen cakes. The gal did tell me that you can cut when frozen. The blades are strong enough to handle it. This thing is awesome and has already saved me so much heartache.

I waited for two years to purchase mine then literally used it hot out of the UPS truck and have been singing its praises ever since. LOVE IT. If I could take two things to heaven with me it would be my Magic Line Pans and my Agbay leveler.

I can't cut straight either. I've wanted one for 1 year. Went to work cleaning up lumber at construction site so I could buy. Soon as I had enough saved I QUIT!!

So, for those who have them, do you have the one blade or two blade Agbay? I'm wondering which one is better.

i got the 2 blade one. It is great because i can level and torte at the same time. For example I can torte the cake to 2 layers plus level off the top if needed.

I got the 2 blade one also. I figured as long as I was going to spend the money might as well go for broke (and I am now). I like the fact that you can make the layers as thick or thin as you like. Is it as easy to use as the commercial?

Question for those with the two blade version -- Can you use only one blade if you need to? Or are both blades always on the mechanism?

I am guessing you can only use one if you like cause you can just lift the top one higher or just remove the blade.

you can use each blade seperately. They are on the same "arm" for lack of a better word, but they have seperate adjustment knobs. The 2nd blade (top) has adjustment knobs on the back.

Oh my God. I just checked messages on my answering machine and Maureen from agbay said she read my question on CC and thought she should answer it. ( she guessed it was me asking)She left me a long message in re: to NOT cutting frozen cakes with the leveler.

I was already impressed with the great service I got and even more so now. She's a really nice lady.

what is agbay? a brand name? I have Wilton's big one. It's been fine for me, but with the bake even strips, I barely need to level anymore.

Agbay is the name of the leveler that Maureen sells.

Maureen offered such great customer service when I ordered mine. She talked with my hubby (he's the mechanical one in the family) and answered all his questions and just overall a pleasant experience with her. Besides all that her product lives up everything she offers about it. thumbs_up.gif

Geez, I can't say anything bad about sugarcraft either. I've only ordered once from them and I received great service from them also. I'd rather have her go to the phone company and teach them customer service!!!

My first order/experience with Sugarcraft has been great! I ordered earlier this week. They called to let me know that one of the flavorings I ordered was out of stock and asked if I wanted them to "hold" the order or proceed without it. I just checked on my package and it is VERY close to me now. So, less than a week and customer service was very friendly!
The large cutter on their site is the one I use daily and it is priced at $55.25 (which is a great deal). The blade is sturdy and I have cut MANY a frozen cakes with it! Just an alternative for those of us who either can't afford/refuse to spend over $150 on a leveler. FYI: www.sugarcraft.org Go to the catalog. On the search bar type in "cake leveler". Click on the first hyperlink that comes up. Go to the bottom of the page and just above the turntables you will see them! HTH
