I have to make a wedding shower cake next weekend. I was thinking of using 2 (10x2) on the bottom and 2 (6x2) layers on top. This will be my first time to put one together. Is it easier to stack or tier them? Also, you make think I'm really dumb on this but if I stack them do I measure the rods for the length of both layers to push into the cakes (Approx. 8 inches) and do I insert a cardboard circle between the 10" and 6" layers?
Also, if I tier them is it better to get the push in pillars or use the plates on top of the 10 and bottom of the 6"? I know I have lot s of questions but I'm very nervous about this.

Please Please Please help!!!!!!!!

I would just stack them, placing a cardboard inbetween layers. I would not dowel it. But that is just me. If you want security, add a few dowels under the cake circle.

Thank you. Do you think they will slide around?

I was going to write a long winded explanation, but someone already did it for us icon_lol.gif

With a cake that small, I havn't had a problem with them sliding. If there was another tier, I would dowel it.
