Okay, so I've got a huge wedding cake to do next weekend. It will be 5 tiers, stacked - 2 layers each. The bottom tier will be (2) 9 in. half circle cakes. Has anyone used these? Is it best to cross stack the layers of the half circles? Does it make a difference either way? I plan to have dowel rods in each layer... should I still put a "main" dowel rod from the top to bottom tier?

9" half-rounds? Are you sure you don't mean 18" half-rounds?

If they are 18 inch half pans, you will need to criss cross them. This way, they just won't fall open. I guess that would apply whatever the size..lol icon_lol.gif

Yes, I meant the 18 in. half rounds. Sorry for the confusion. Thanks everyone! icon_redface.gif
