Congrats! Buying a new home is exciting, My hubby and I just bought our first new home last year, it has been a lot of work, but a lot of fun! But, we live in California, so we could only afford a small fixer upper! Have fun!

That is awesome news! There is no feeling like that.

We live in California...thank God we were able to buy our first home nine years ago, when you could still find something decent for under 150K. Those same starters go for 350-400K now.

Yet, my DH STILL won't let me leave California! icon_biggrin.gif

I could not imagine paying that much for a house. Cost of living here in Michigan is so much cheaper. My FIL lives in Hawaii and he paid 600k for his house and it doesnt have AC!!! COULD YOU IMGAGINE

You get used to it! I grew up in California, so I can't really imagine leaving! We paid almost 400k for our 1100 sq ft 1960's home that needed lots of fixing!

WOW!! icon_eek.gif That is insane...no AC??!! For 600k, I'd better have built in sensors strategically placed in every room that detects my body temperature and automatically adjusts the AC FOR ME!!! LOL icon_razz.gificon_lol.gif I live in South Alabama, on the coast, where it's always hot & humid...9-10 months out of the year. As I've lived here my entire life, you'd think I'd be used to it...but I melt like an M&M in your mouth!! icon_razz.gif Can't stand the heat/humidity down here....and for 600k I'd better have an AC...Hawaii or not!! LOL icon_lol.gif

Such an exciting time for you two! Very happy for both of you and have FUN with your house! icon_biggrin.gif I predict you won't have much time for cakes, though, with an entire new house to play with...LOL icon_lol.gif

congratulations on your new home you will enjoy making great memories there - just remember the kitchen should take up at least 75% of the square footage icon_lol.gif that way you have lots and lots of space for cake stuff icon_lol.gif
