I just bought a clay gun from Sugar Craft online!!!! I can't wait to get it! My family doesn't share in my excitement so I thought I would turn to my CC family! Any tips on it before I get it would be fun. Thanks for listening!

I got one of those from Santa. I LOOOOOVE it!! My tip would be instead of adding more crisco to your recipe to make it softer, and better to got through the gun, heat your fondant up in the microwave for just a few seconds to soften it. It's faster, easier, and you don't have that added crisco~yuck!

You are so lucky!! I've been wanting to buy that sugarcraft gun, but I already have the small metal extruder and a twist handle one, LOL, and I use both all the time!!

That's a good tip about warming it up in the microwave luvbakin!

a clay extruder. you can use different discs to get the fondant in different shapes. it makes it easy to make ropes and tassles and things.

heres a link to one:

http://www.sugarcraft.com/catalog/gumpaste/gptools.htm

its about halfway down the page in black and red.

beryl's.com has the SugarCraft clay gun also.

I have one and I also have the Makin's Clay Extruder (green one w/ manual twist turn - bought at Michael's) and I use them both also.
The Makin's one holds a lot more fondant. Makes it a bit easier for larger diameter cakes. Not as many seams to hide or put together.
