HI, can you please help me - I want to attach phalaenopsis orchids to a cake. They have some wires .
What is the easiest and safest way to do so

There are a couple of methods for using wired flowers. You can wrap the stems in floral tape and insert them into the cake. but the best way is to use a straw or flower pick. Insert the straw into the cake, and then the wire stem of the flower will be held by the straw. this is especially helpful if the flower is heavy. the straw will prevent the flower wire from tearing through the cake.

I just bought some coffee stirrers/mini straws last weekend at GFS for this purpose. But, as JoAnnB said, if they're very heavy, you'll want to use the regular sized straws.
