The first...for marble cake...if it is in the recipe section I am not sure where to look...I tried yellow cakes. There used to be a cake mix for it but they don't make it anymore, and it is my hsuband's favorite!

Also...25 years ago, when I was a kid, I had a recipe for what we called "Friendship Cake". Not sure if that was the real title. Anyway, we got the starter from a friend. You added stuff to the starter and baked it (maybe waiting a few days in between?). Before you baked it you set aside a cup or so for your next cake. It was chocolate, and was very fudgy and yummy, as I recall (of course, I was only 10 at the time, so who knows, I could be way off). I have never seen it since. Any ideas?

As far as the marble cake: just swirl two cake mix flavors together - whatever flavor he likes. For example: pour white cake mix in the pan then pour chocolate on top and swirl with wooden spoon or spatula.

Friendship Cake: The Cake Mix Doctor has a copy of this recipe in her Cake Mix Doctor Book. I don't have mine in front of me or I would type it for you (I'm at work). Try going to her website: www.cakemixdoctor.com and doing a search for this recipe. I found a recipe on her website by doing this. It normally brings up newsletters that had this recipe in it and then you read through those. If I get a chance, I'll try and post the recipe later today.

Awesome on the marble cake...and a big DUH on my part!

I did check out the cake doctor as well as Google. The problem I am running into is ALL of these recipes have fruit in them, and if I am recalling correctly the recipe we used was plain old chocolate, although it may have had some nuts.

**Thanks for moving this, Mod...sorry I missed the forum!

Sorry it took so long to get back to this. I didn't get home till after 9 last night.

Anyway, the recipe I have has fruit in it, too. Not sure about the one you're talking about. I remember one years ago that went through our church. It was more of a spicey yeast cake.

Hhmn, only friendship cake I ever had was kind of a white cake.
Duncan Hines still makes a Marble Mix. But you can just make the Yellow Cake mix, reserve one cup of batter to which you add 1/3 cup sifted cocoa powder.

the premade marble cake mixes are just yellow cake mix with a small envelope of cocoa powder LOL Just remove about a cup of your yellow cake batter and add about 1/3 cup of cocoa powder to it and then put that in the yellow mix once it's in the pan in little blobs all over and swirl it up with a knife.
