Hi everyone!
I'm in charge of planning an Author's tea party for my daughter's first grade classl. The event will take place at 8:00a.m. so I need to bring breakfast items. There will be 28 kids both of their parents plus a few grand parents. I was thinking of making pretty decorated cupcakes to set up in one of the wilton tree like holders. I was also thinking of bringing bagels, mini muffins, fruit, coffee from starbucks, and orange juice. my question is how much do I bring of each? ... I'm horrible at estimating... I'm always affraid of being short so I end up with tons of left overs. I'm thinking of at least 60 cupcakes but just don't know how many of the other stuff...... help!!!!
It is likely that most everyone will have had breakfast. And some children don't eat that much. they will take some of what they see, but not really eat it.
you can consider if they will eat one of each item. Most will have at least one cupcake, but probably take one of each.
If I were doing this, I would eliminate the bagels. They require cutting, cream cheese etc making eating them more difficult to eat.
I'm with JoAnnB...ditch the bagels. You need stuff that people can just pick up and put on their plates and get out of the way! That's quite a few people, really, and it may get crowded. And kids will be bouncing off the walls. I'd plan on a cupcake for every person. Maybe 2 mini muffins per person, fruit and coffee.
