Earlier I posted about my frustration coloring fondant dark brown. I am working on a LV purse. It's pretty big. I filled it, carved it, put on a crumb coating and.......did all of this on saran wrap on a baking sheet. For the life of me I can not transfer it to the cake base it is intended for to cover with fondant and all the trimmings. Any ideas????/ icon_redface.gificon_redface.gif Did you ever count the minutes until one of your cake projects was done icon_cry.gificon_cry.gif Any help will be greatly appreciated

You could freeze it to firm it up a bit, then as gently as possible, lift it with your hands to place on your cake board. You will probably have to touch up your crumb coat, though. HTH

I usually use a large spatula (and my hubby) to tranfer cakes to the cake boards. Just put the board right next to your baking sheet and quickly lift and move. I find it is easier if i have an extra set of hands!

I would definitely put it in the freezer to firm up before attempting to move it. Just as freezing helps with carving, it also helps when transferring cakes or layers! icon_smile.gif
