Just gorgeous! A truly professional looking result! Your parents must have been so happy with it! ![]()
I remember that post. I was wondering how it turned out. Beautiful cake. I am sure your parents were sooooooo proud! Really an awesome job!
I still can't believe this is your first time trying all those different techniques!
Really nice cake - it came out so lovely! Great job! ![]()
Fantastic job! I'm glad it worked out for you at the restaurant!
Thanks!
Actually, I was pretty amazed myself at the end result. I just kept doing one step at a time and wondered how it was all going to come together.
Loriemoms, to make the swiss dots I just piped 3 dots in a triangle shape (trying to keep them approximately the same size) and then waited for them to crust a bit and flattened them with a clean fingertip dipped in cornstarch (a tip I learned here on CC).

Very cool! that is a great hint about the cornstarch! Will have to give it a try...
Hi, Love your cake. Can you tell me if you made your topper? If so I could use some suggestions.
bostonterrierlady, if you are referring to the roses in the topper... yes, I made them from gumpaste. The gold "50" is an anniversary pick from Wilton that I bought at the store.
That is beautiful. Looks like a book cake. I'm sure your parents will be pleased. Wonderful work.
I agree with what's been said. This cake is perfection!
