I don't think I like adding recipes any more. Maybe it is just me and I am taking things a little to personally but it really hurts my feelings when I add a recipe and it gets ratings of 5 and all my co-workers and customers rave about how absolutely delicious it is and then evidently someone from here tries it and maybe they don't make it properly and it doesn't work out for them and they give it a rating of 2!!!!!!!!!
If you make one of my recipes and it doesn't turn out for you then I would rather you PM me to see what you are doing wrong.
OR I wish that maybe we wouldn't have a rating system on the recipes. Obviously some people just go in there and arbitrarily give low scores. Why??? I don't know... Just the way some people are I guess.
Sorry if I sound like a big baby but my recipe for the Bittersweet Chocolate Frosting is fabulous and worthy of a higher rating than 2!
Thanks for letting me vent. Although it didn't make me feel any better. No longer will I post recipes on here.

. Haven't tried it, but then I KNOW everything you do is fab, and I'm sure this is too! Don't let a few stupid people get you down - perhaps they tried it and didn't like it, or did it wrong and got bad results. I agree with you, if you know it's good enough to stake your name and reputation on it, then people should trust you and realise they may have done something wrong and ask you about it!

I am new here so I am sure what I say won't hold as much weight as people who have been here longer, but keep your head up about the recipe ratings. People are so different that it could be as simple as that the people who make it don't care for it as much as you did, or maybe they did make it wrong and it did not come out as good (or as expected). Also the difficulty of preparation might of played a role in it. Just don't feel bad, I am sure it is not a personal attack on you just an opinion on that particular recipe. It would be nice to be able to put and actual reason for the rating but since that is not yet available, a low rating could mean a variety of things. Since I began doing cakes several years ago I had to grow a thicker skin and know that just because someone didn't like one of my cake flavors they were not personally not liking me....maybe it just was not their cup of tea.

Oh, Susan. I am sorry to hear this. I haven't tried much on here. But the Bittersweet chocolate frosting sounds fantastic!!! I don't think that you should let a few bad apples spoil the bunch. I know that you do great things every time. But it is up to you. I hope that you feel better soon. Take care. And BTW, I think that I would like to try the Bittersweet choc frosting this week. Susan, I'm very sorry for this occurence. It's so sad that you contribute these great recipes and advice and this is what happens. I suppose it doesn't matter what other people think as long as you what is good and right for you. I hope you have a wonderful day! 
hey susan...i got the recipe from you for the monkey bread...it was amazing. i was afraid that i wouldn't be able to make it, but i actually pulled it off, granted it didn't look as pretty as yours, but it was delicious. i will definately keep this recipe in my recipe album to make when we have guests staying over. thanks again for the fab recipe.

Your recipe sounds delish and I printed it out for my book but have not used it yet....I guess I need to do that so I can post my 5. I would not let the low score get you down. There is a lot of different tastes on this site and someone may have not liked it or it did not work out.
I have been trying to perfect IMBC forever and still cant get it right but I would not leave bad scores on a recipe because I am an idiot not the recipe.

We can't all expect to get the highest ratings on everything we post rather it be pictures or recipes - I certainly don't. What is the purpose of the rating system then?? But I also don't think you should criticize or down play the person that gave you the lower rating - that person's opinion is just as important as yours. There is no need to be hurtful to that person just because they share a different opinion/taste than yours.

Lazy Susan....I totally understand that you would like everyone to enjoy your wonderful recipes. And everyone that has tried them and love them appreicate your efforts. But I am with Stefy, I don't think it is fair to the people that tried your recipe and for whatever reason didn't like it as much as you did..to be criticized. We are all on this site to become a better cake decorator in some shape, form or fashion. Every input here is a great one to someone out there in cake land. You know that your frosting recipe taste great and it may taste great to a lot of people, but everyone will not like your recipes. BUT THAT IS OKKKKKKK!!! No matter what keep doing your thing and sharing that is what makes the world go round......Do what makes you happy!!!!!
