Yeah, so I decided to make MMF today for the first time. I'm in the melting the marshmallow phase of the process, and being the poor student I am, I only have 1 glass bowl to put in the microwave, and it is tall and then. I had no idea that the marshmallows would expand so much
My microwave is tiny and the bowl barely fits in it, and now I can't get it out without making a huge mess. darn.
oh well, it'll lower slowly i think...
here is my current situation:
LOL
Sorry it is funny. I tried it for the first time last week. I had no clue. My microwave and everything else was a big mess. My microwave is also small, so I decided to melt a little at a time. But I soon found out that it did not matter. What a mess.
I have decided that next time I will just melt on the stove top. Marshmallows are not that hard to clean up after all.

If you start your micro on defrost then turn it up to low/med after the marshmallows loose consistancy it may help you with the melting process. Remember to add 2tablespoons of water to the marshmallows before you start and stir them every 10-15seconds!!! Good Luck, it's lots of fun making mmf.
lol...I'm feel real sorry for you - but, thanks for sharing...I too have learn't the dreaded marshmallow law. ![]()
...and for the next experiment you might enjoy watching a marshmallow Peep "grow-up" in the microwave. My kids won't eat a Peep, but they certainly are entertained with them in the microwave!!
Sort of looks like a marshmallow souffle! ![]()
Hope it cleans up fairly easily, you poor kid!

I have not put fondant on a cake yet.
I am just beginning to decorate.
I am taking my first Wilton class tonight.
I am so excited heheheheh.
but I want to try the fondant I thought I would make it instead of buy it premade.
I have heard the pre-made stuff doen't tase very good.
Good luck with your cake ![]()
