Does anyone know if you can buy it there? Is it any good? I know there is a thread about frosting at Sam's but I only have a Costco around me. Has anybody had it?

you need to check and see if it is for decorating. alot of the time companies like betty crocker and dunkin hines will make butter cream frosting but you cant really use it for decorating because it is to thin

I recently had some birthday cake from Costco and it was absolutely horrible.
I was shocked. The cake was pretty dry, if you're used to fresh moist cake as I certainly am, but the icing was a different story all together. I can't even describe it. I tried to eat my piece but I just couldn't, and I had to spit a bite with a bunch of icing into my napkin when noone was looking. I would recomend you buy a small cake from Costco to try the icing before you decide to buy from them. You might be sorry.

Tooooo funny Carol! I had a very similar experience last year during graduation parties. I literally had to spit it out. Didn't want anyone to think I was a cake snob, since I hadn't baked the cake! It was awful. AWFUL!

I know what you mean, we had a few graduations last year. The people who did not know I made cakes, that store bought stuff, our kids would have a small piece and leave it. I would just try a bite and then try to find some water.
I also cannot stomach the DH or BC or PillsB icing in the small cans at the grocery store. I dont know what it is, they just tastes awful to me.
My boys are becoming cake snobs. They wont really eat storebough cakes at daycare and our provider, keeps on saying I have to get these moms, to let you bring it the cakes otherwise they often end up in the garbage.
Oh well, I am so proud of my boys and of their little friends! I consider them to be giving me great compliments.

One of those companies makes a delicious chocolate fudge icing in the can that I love on devils food cake! Oh yum! I haven't used any of the others in soo many years.

The not-so-funny part of my short-but-sweet cake story was my bil got awful pains right after we got to the party and we wound up calling 911 to haul him to the hospital. I followed in my car and missed the whole dang party. Two hours later when we returned, it was a kidney stone and he got drugs, noone paid any attention to me when I had some cake. Soo, noone saw me spit it out. What a party!

Yeah, I really do NOT like store bought cakes but reading that other thread about buying a tub of frosting from the Sam's Club bakey and it being good...I thought maybe it would save me some time. The ONLY store bought cakes I ever liked were from a grocery store here called Byerly's. Their buttercream is REALLY good, but they are kinda expensive. When my mom used to do cakes, she would just buy her frosting in tubs there, but my grandma worked there so she would get deals.

Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone has tried the buttercream from the Costco bakery.
