I have had Canons and they have been good, but the print heads have always caused their demise. I just got an Epson C88 (and a spare to boot 
) and am having awesome results with it. With the Canons, I always had to manually fix the color output because reds never came out like reds--the Epson--awesome reds with no interference from me. I have had Epson printers for my main printer for many years and have really never had any issues with them.
