They're not real. There was a thread about these babies last fall and someone had a link to it in an urban legend webpage. They do look amazing, though...
They're 2- to 5-inch sculptures created by artist Camille Allen (including some entries from her Shell Baby line of miniatures), and they're made from Prosculpt polymer clay and mohair. Definitely not the kind of thing most of us would find palatable.

That's amazing work! It's almost creepy how life-like they are!! I wish I could sculpt like that!!
