When I clicked on the link, it asks for a log in. When I click on log in, it says the file is not accessable.

I recognize one of those cakes. The square one with the fruit painted on it. Someone from here on CC made it!

Wow! I didn't realize so many from CC here were at the show! My cake was the Tiffany blue one with the bridgework or curtain work on it! I didn't place unfortunately. They moved me out of my original category and into the foreign techniques category because of all the bridgework. My spring basket cookies didn't place either which was a complete dissappointment. They have three different judges every year and who knows what they all look for! My cookies would have place last year but this year there were more entries in that non-cake cookie category. Oh well, I still think my entries were beautiful!

I took a bunch of pics too but mine aren't close-ups of each and everyone so I'll just enjoy these!

Oh yeah, my sister hasn't posted her entry yet so I'll tell ya'll which one it is. It's the hamburger/fries/rootbeer float. It won 2nd place in the hand molded chocolate category.

Thank you for the beautiful pictures. I really want to go and see one of the shows in person. Although I was not able to go I can still see the beautiful work that was represented there since you were willing to take your time to take the pictures.

Hello,
Your flowers are beautiful. I would love the recipe, but my Spanish is not 100% and I don't want to make a mistake. Could you please translate in English? Thanks.

i'm happy to share the photos. that was the easy part, taking the pictures. i can only image all the hard work that went into each of those cakes. the youngest caker to place was a 5 year old. it's the small yellow cake with a happy face. 3rd place for the age group. i'm trying to convince my 4 yo niece to enter next year. icon_smile.gif

there were demos all day on both days. i would've stayed for all of them except i didn't want my boyfriend to go nuts. lol. they auctioned off everything they demo'd and i won the cookie monster cake for 8 bucks. Linda Bills of Do It With Icing in san diego cranked that monster out in about 20 minutes. i'm just a newbie and i was in awe.

Amy,

I can't believe your Tiffany blue cake did not place! That is beautiful and I am in awe of the string/bridge work. I know it must be disappointing for you but hopefully you know how great your cake is!

I do feel sorry for the judges in these shows. That has got to be an incredibly difficult job.

Thanks for sharing the pics! There were some amazing cakes there...I recognized a few from Meghan89 and the pink one with the Martha Dot technique....
My personal favourites were Alice in Wonderland - LOVED that one and the Klimt cake - I was toying with doing something with that painting myself..funny.
