Green will take pink out of BC. I'm making strawberry BC and the extract was red so I have a slight pinkish orange tint to my frosting and I'd like white. Looking at the color wheel green is the opposite. Any idea if this works??

TIA

I don't know but I'd love to know the answer.

It sounds like it would work, but I'm not sure. I know you use green face powder/correction cream to reduce redness on the face. Why not try it with just a tiny bit and see what happens?

Well I went ahead and did it and IT WORKED!! I put in half a toothpick for a double batch of BC and sure enough it turned white. Yay!! icon_biggrin.gif Not a super stark white but it wasn't muddy and no traces of either green or pink. Who'd have thought paying attention in elementary art class would pay off. icon_rolleyes.gifthumbs_up.gificon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gif

SugarPlumFairy - that is too funny about the makeup, I didn't even think about the green concealer I have to cover up pimples

I'm glad it worked. Something else to try to remember now. icon_wink.gif

Concealer! That's the word I was groping for. icon_redface.gif All those years working for two different cosmetics companies and I couldn't even remember a simple word like that (yet I still remember Lancome's Ablutia Gel Moussant and Serum Refirmassant and never learned a lick of French). icon_biggrin.gif

Glad to know that. When I teach in my classes I try and tell my students to buy a color wheel and keep it in thier tool caddies.

In the hairdressing world green takes out red and red takes out green. So in the cake world I would imagine the same. We learned that as long as they are the oppisite color from each other they cancel each other out. Hopefully that will help on all other colors.
