I've seen a lot of pictures with the cutest, bright colored/patterned cake boards. My question is what are they wrapped in? I know some are done in fondant, but some look like a patterned tissue paper or something.

TIA!

Sorry...I'm a big newbie! LOL icon_smile.gif

I know some people use bright scrapbiooking paper/wrapping paper and then cover in contact paper so the grease from the BC doesn't make oil marks on the paper.

I get a scrap of fabric from Wal-Mart, cover the board, and then cover that with clear contact paper. Just an idea I got from other CCers.

Welcome to CC!!

I enjoy using scrap book paper lately - they have it in every hobby, flower, color, etc. Haven't tried wrapping paper or fabric yet.
I also use the Wilton silver foil paper and fondant.

I would like to know what kind of board it is... I see so many cute ones but they are thick. Not thin boards that I see them sell for cakes at the craft store. I need some but don't know ehere to get it at.

I use the foam boards now. They are very strong and don't have to be thick.

I have used wrapping paper and today used an Easter table cloth (on my cupcake board in the gallery). I also use contact paper if the cake is going directly on the paper... for cupcakes I just place them on the paper because they are in paper cups... hope this helps icon_smile.gif

Could someone tell me where you get the foam boards, I would like something sturdier then the cardboard ones. I double them but they still aren't very sturdy! TIA
