I usually break off a piece from my central batch and roll it into a ball. Then I make a well in the center. I put food coloring into the little well and then squish the rest of the RBC to cover the well. This way I don't get coloring on my hands and it colors from the inside out. I also wear wear food-safe gloves so I don't get color on my hands. ![]()
ditto to the other posters- and if you're coloring the entire batch the same color, you can add the coloring to the shortening stage in the mixer, so your hands don't get colored at all! Have fun!!!
