Maroon icing turns maroon? Right now I have been waiting and it is still a purple shade. I used the Americolor Maroon and it is a purple shade.

What I am really looking for is a cranberry, wine color. Any suggestions on this?

I would take a small quantity of the "purple" icing and put it in a seperate container and then try mixing a little red to it. Give it about 15-20 minutes to set up - don't cover it - let the air at it - then look at the color. Most colors darken as they set. I tried to do red, red, red roses once and the icing always looked kind of "orangey" but after letting the roses set for 20 minutes - they actually got RED, RED, RED. They were perfect. Time will tell the true color. Be patient. thumbs_up.gif

I GIVE UP!!!! icon_cry.gificon_cry.gificon_cry.gif

I have been attempting to get a stupid maroon color for over 4 hours and nothing is working. People have sworn by the Americolor, but it has not worked for me. It is a stupid purple color.

What the (bleep) am I going to do?

You want to use burgundy not maroon for a wine, cranberry color. Maroon has more of a purple undertone. I agree-add a bit of red and see what happens.

When I had brides request burgundy, I always asked them "Burgundy-red or burgundy-purple?" as I found that people have different ideas of what "burgundy" really should be.

That's a good idea indydebi. My bride wants burgandy red. But, right now my burgandy red looks pink. How long do I need to wait to make sure it works?

Also, is raspberry color close to a cranberry or wine color? I have no idea. I am beginning to think that I am color blind. It does run in my family. Maybe I am just color unedumacated...... thumbs_up.gif
