I posted this on a different area, but I have not received any comments on it, so I am hoping for help in this category.....

I over whipped my non-crusting icing and I have a million air bubbles in it. I have never done this before, usually I am very good with watching, but CC took over my body last night. So, can I save it or am I doomed.......

Thank you for any help!!!

I'm sorry, I don't know if there is anything you can do. But here's a bump for you, maybe someone else has some ideas...

Try using the Melvira Method if you are covering a cake! It smooths all of the bubbles out!! Heres the link to the article

Hope this kind of helps! Lisa

If you can, let it rest a day or two. The bubbles should disappear. I read this in a book, but I can't remember which one--either Toba G. or Collette P.

Thank you everyone. This cake has been a nightmare, and it was supposed to be an easy cake. First airbubble, now I can't get a stupid cranberry color!!!

I am ready for this wedding to be over....

I don't have a KA as such, rather a Sunbeam bench mixer thats older than myself. LOL

Anyways, the mixer has only two set speeds that I can use. The lowest one I think is still way too fast. Is there anything that I can do or should i just make BC by hand?

all you have to do is stir it with your spatula as you use it and it will take the bubbles out. its just work on the arm but effective. had to do this working in commercial bakeries, too much air in icing.

or remix it on low speed, if your icing covers up to the top of the blade or paddle no air will get mixed in.

but dont throw it away, its deff. usable!
