CONGRATULATIONS!
I'm in the process of adopting my 2 1/2 year old foster son, I've had him for a year and I can't wait until I sign the adoption papers. I do have a biological daughter, we both love this little boy so much.
Don't ferget to share after you pick her up.
Congratulations!!! May your family have a wonderful life together!!
Congratulations on receiving the greatest gift there is to receive! As I can see from all the posts, we are all thrilled for you! You are going to love every minute of being a mom. There is nothing else like it in the world.
And remember, being a mom is not just a job, its an adventure!
Big hugs to you and Miranda.
That is wonderful, happy news. Welcome home Miranda.
I have friends who tried to conceive for 8 years, they finally adopted a newborn baby girl, the day they were able to bring her home my friend found out she was pregnant! They have two daughters nine months apart in age and she says "I have two girls, one is our biological child, one is our adopted child, but I forget which is which"
Awww....congratulations! I am so excited for you and your family!
Congratulations!!!!!
Miranda
Latin: Wonderful;
derived from the Latin word mirandus.
Miranda is the young girl in Shakespeare''s The Tempest, raised and educated on an isolated island by her magician father Prospero.
Congratulations bakesweet. Motherhood is the most wonderful profession you could ever undertake. I've a friend who adopted and she gave her daughter this poem when her daughter turned 16. I don't know who wrote it, but I thought it appropriate.
AN ADOPTION POEM
Once there were two women
Who hardly knew each other
One you do not remember
The other you call mother
Two different lives shaped to make yours one
One becoming your guiding star
The other became your sun
The first gave you life
And the second taught you to live in it
The first gave you a need for love
And the second was there to give it
One gave you nationality
The other gave you a name
One gave you the seed of talent
The other gave you an aim
One gave you emotions
The other calmed your fears
One saw your first sweet smile
The other dried your tears
The age old questions through the years;
Heredity or environment -
which are you the product of?
Neither my darling - neither
Just two different kinds of love!

khoudek your poem made me tear up oh my gosh how sweet and true it works really well for step familys as well.
heather2780, I thought my friend was so amazing when she gifted this poem to her daughter, as her daughter had started asking all sorts of questions about her birth mother that my friend didn't have the answers to. She still wanted her daughter to know that it was ok to wonder and ask the questions though. When she came across the poem she knew it would help say what was in her heart.
