Airbrush - Hobby Lobby Coupon = Yippee!

Well, today I finally got my hands on a Paasche double action airbrush kit from Hobby Lobby. I used the 40% off coupon from their website which took the total from $110 to $70. Woohoo! Then I went to the cake supply store and bought two big bottles of Americolor airbrush color (ha, for the same amount of money I spent on 11 bottles that I ordered from KopyKake earlier this week - impatience is expensive!).
Now I'm so intimidated by this thing! LOL ![]()
Are there any websites out there with instructions on beginning airbrushing?
Thanks,
Sherri
Can someone email me the coupon? I can't pull up their site for some reason.
Thanks,
Julie
I don't have a website that gives instructions, but I used to use one to decorate cakes at Dairy Queen. They are fun to use once you get the hang of it. I would practice on a damp (old) towel before you use it on a cake. The only way to get a feel for your airbrush is to practice. It is a mix of how close you hold the nozzle to your surface and how far back you pull the trigger. If you hold the nozzle close, you will get a line of color. You will get a mist of color if you hold it back further. Also, the more you pull the trigger back, the more color you will get. I hope that helps to get you started.
Congrats on getting your airbrush
Great deal!
Here's a couple helpful links...

I like looking at the cakes at Pastry Wiz too because the instructions include airbrush directions and you can kind of use it as a resource...to see how to get certain effects.

What section in Hobby Lobby did you find that? Ours is fairly new and I couldn't find anyone to help me (I had 2 kids in tow and didn't want to hang around too long).
Thanks for the links! ![]()
KittisKakes, the airbrushes are in their locked glass art case. Hobby Lobby only sells one Paasche brand airbrush, a couple of really cheap ones that require really expensive needles (22 bucks each!!) and a couple of other single action ones.
Julie, here's a direct link to the coupon, and I've emailed it to you. http://www.hobbylobby.com/site3/weekly/coupons/coupon.cfm]Coupon Link ![]()
