Hey everyone!

I will be diving into the world of cookies for the first time in a couple weeks. I plan to use the NFSC with rolled buttercream.
Just curious, if I were to make the recipe on this site (it's also the recipe I seem to pull up everywhere else).. how much should I make for 100 cookies, (50 5in tiaras, 50 4in baseball caps)??

Just looking for a rough estimate since I haven't a clue how much I will use. LOL

Also I see some posts where people bake the cookies and put frozen RBC right on them while warm, and other posts where people wait til the cookies cool and then place non-frozen RBC on... if anyone has any thoughts on this.. which method would be easier for a first timer, that would be great.

Thanks so much!

I did the RBC on NFSC for the first time last night. Put it on the cookies straight out of the oven and it was a snap! It melted right on and stayed put. (You can check out my photos). I have a hard time estimating amounts...but I had enough RBC using that recipe for 45 4" cookies. I roll mine pretty thick though- about 1/4 inch. Good luck!

Wow.. you did such a great job on those!!!! Gives me hope that I can do this. LOL

Thanks.. I'll probably roll thick as well since it seems to be easier when working wth something like this the first time... looks like 2 batches for a start.

Thanks!! thumbs_up.gif

I would make a couple of batches to start.....I think it's always easier to have too much than not enough and have to get out your mixer and supplies again! I roll mine very thin, about 1/8", so it usually goes a little farther!

cakesonoccasion, Your cookies look really nice!

Did you use a RBC recipe from CC? I haven't made RBC yet but I like the way it makes the cookies look. icon_smile.gif I'll have to give that a try...
