Hello!
I have seen several cakes on this website, and especially on the show Ace of Cakes, that have stars or baubles on the end of long, and often curled, wire or something. It makes the cake look like it's exploding with fireworks and fun. I would love to know exactly what anyone is using for those extensions. Is it just plain bendable wire? It doesn't seem like pipe-cleaners. And how to you get the star or the bauble to stick to the end?
I think this is a really whimsical way to decorate a birthday cake and would love to try it, I just don't know what to look for or where to look. Any help is appreciated!

i think they make this effect by taking florist wire and making the shape they want and than piping royal icing onto the florist wire in the design you want

Duff from Charm City Cakes uses 18 gauge florist wire. It comes in a packet of straight pieces.
