Hi there,
Can anyone tell me why my cupcake papers are soggy? Here is what I do.
1. Line the pans with the cupcake papers
2. Fill about 1/2 to 3/4 full
3. bake for the specified time
4. check with toothpick for doneness (sometimes the cupcakes are cracked so I think they are overdone.
5. pull out of oven to cool for 10-15 minutes
When they are completely cool I open one up. The cupcake is perfectly fine, but the paper on the outside is almost soggy and within a day the paper is falling off the cupcakes. Has anyone ever come across this problem? These are very old cupcake holders that I am just trying to use up...could this be the problem?
Thanks for your advice...this is really bugging me!
Thanks for the tips ladies, the only other issue I have is having grid marks on the bottoms of my cupcakes because of the cooling racks. I'm using the Wilton and between the soggy bottoms and the grid marks my cupcakes are a mess. I will post again with a picture the next time I make cupcakes. Thanks!
I cool mine on a cookie sheet, and add a fresh paper cup once they are completely cooled. No need to remove the papercup they baked in, just place then in a fresh one.
Good Luck!
Dolly
