this is a practice cake of a cake I will be making for my sister's baby shower on April 1st....Do any of you have any suggestions of anytinh i can add to it to make it stand out more??...It looks kind of plain to me...
I think you should put white outlining between the colors ... where the wheels meet the carriage ... where the yellow lines meet the pink ...etc
Well, since you said it's for April 1st, my favorite day...(April's Fool)...
...I think you should put a notecard next to it that reads something like "TWINS! Twice as much to love, two blessings from above" just to get people going. ![]()

Sorry, I can't offer anything on the cake. It looks beautiful to me. You could always write "Welcome Baby Smith" (for example) across the buggy.

I would pipe a baby on top of the carriage. Make it from fondant. I think the Wilton pan tells you how to do it. I am also thinking of cutout fondant baby bottles and rattles for the pink part. You could do blue and pink. With the white lining recommended already that should do it.

I agree with sofiasmami with outlining each section of color in white. I wouldn't clutter it up by adding a bunch of other stuff. The colors are really pretty. I think you just need the white outlining to make it POP a little. Just my two cents.
Good luck...it's a really pretty cake.
I respectfully have to disagree. I do think that even with the white outline it might still not "pop." It would just look like a normal cake. I think this is an issue of preference. You can still add some more accents without "cluttering up" the space.
Adding another texture to the cake, can make it stand out more - it's all covered w/ stars... Maybe do a ruffle along the basinet, add a few clusters of little flowers or rosebuds on it or a round the base. I think the colors are fine!
thanx soo muhc u all!!!!....I really appreciate the input!!! <3
I'm with cakesbyallison. I think that will make it look so cute! I mean it's cute now, but that will really pull it all together!
Nice job, BTW. I love the colors!
