I just baked 3 dozen cupcakes for DD's birthday party and 2 dozen angel food cupcakes. I'll decorate them tomorrow. I just wanted to get them baked and out of the way. Oh I also just decorated 2 dozen cookie favors for her party as well. I've been a busy girl. icon_lol.gif

I'm baking a cake right now...then I will make icing and I really need to carve part of my cake tonight and then I'll do the rest tomorrow. They aren't coming to pick it up until 4:30-5:00 tomorrow, so I've got time to work on it tomorrow! Yea!

I would have been but I had to turn down the order. She called at about 4pm today for a cake for tomorrow morning. Just a small cake but still..........I had to say no. Now I'm bored and wish I was decorating.........go figure.

I was going to be making a really cute fishing theme cake for DH 40th birthday... but got tired, and btw...he likes cheesecake, so I bought them from costco and decided to just have a fun party and not worry about the cake... sad, I know.

sad? thats a triumph for a cake decorator! we are usually so obsessed with anything and everything cake, that to take a step back and relax is a really big deal. congratulations!

I just finished decorating two cakes for a black belt ceremony at my martial arts studio. One is here:
http://www.cakecentral.com/cake-photo-351153.html

I didn't upload the other, because it is pretty boring--just a large BC belt across the middle, with writing above and below the belt.

I just finished a cheerleader cake for a 6 year old girl! it is 2:00 and I should be in bed! You have to love it to stay up this late! I am in the Midwest too! No grandaughters helping and it is nice and quiet. I love doing cakes late with no interruptions.

I like decorating all night too...the house is quiet, everyone's in bed and I can listen to a PPV movie in the background. I decorated a Strawberry Shortcake birthday cake today...two color basketweave and mmf strawberries. The party is Sunday afternoon. I've come to the conclusion I hate chocolate cake...too many dark crumbs!
