Also, do you prefer to do 1/2 of one mixed with 1/2 of another?
I voted fondant & then said DA.. I love making roses from RI the best! ![]()
Oooops ~ gumpaste was suppose to be one of the choices ~ Sorry!
If you vote for something else please let us know what you use.
Thank you so much! ![]()
I need to make some roses (eg. rose spray) for an upcoming cake and there are so many beautiful ones in the gallery. I've tried white chocolate clay and they turned out good but it's getting summertime and I'm afraid they'll melt
. I tried gumpaste and didn't do too well but that was about 3 years ago. I'd like to try them again ![]()
I voted for 'other' because I use gumpaste. I urge you to try it again. This time, use a little bit of gumtex in the paste and I think you will like your results. It makes it more elastic and they dry harder and are less likely to break. You can make them very realistic this way.
i voted other 'cuz i like 50/50 gumpaste /mmf ![]()
It looks like I'll go with gumpaste ![]()
THANKS EVERYONE!!
I bought some more gumpaste yesterday ![]()
Voted else for buttercream... with kiss in the centre (caramel filled)!
I voted fondant, but want to try the 50/50 so it will set up better/quicker. There are a lot of gumpaste votes! I've never tried it, but am going to find out how and give it a shot when I can. I stink at BC, never had a class as it costs money and is usually scheduled when I can't go. I have to stick with things that work like clay, as I seem to be able to make some decent shapes that way!
The roses are finished. They were for an anniversary cake this past weekend. I made them out of gumpaste and added gumtex like cheftracy suggested. Some folks at the party thought they were real. Thank you all for participating in this poll and for encouraging me to try gumpaste again.
You all are GREAT!
