Help I'm Having A Bad Cake Day Here

I'm tring to put fontant on my cake .And I just don't know the other tier came out just find.But, this tier is just a NIGHTMARE. The fontant keeps cracking as soon as I lay it on top of the cake .Just what am I doing wrong here. Oh please help I've been doing this topsy turvy cake for hours now.I'm about to open the trash bin up and be all done with it.

Could it be that your fondant is too dry? Have you tried kneading in some shortening?

yes, I've used alot of shortening.I'm going to go back and try again.Maybe I needed a little break I'll try what you said wish me luck Thank You So much

Try microwaving the fondant for just a few seconds. It makes a world of difference for me sometimes.

microwave really I'll have to try that I ended up grabbing a fresh piece of fontant worked out great I'll try microwaving the other piece for my stars I want to put on Thank you two so much.I guess I won't trash this cake after all.I'll post it when its finally finished again thanx
