Oh my gosh! You won't believe the dumb like I had last night at work. I was talking to one of the nurses about a cake for her daughter's birthday and she told me that it was a shame I couldn't make her daughter's Wedding cake. She said that her daughter wasn't getting married here in Washington but that she was going to get married in Hawaii. I was like what Island and she said Oahu!!!! I was so ecstatic!!!! I told her no way! My daughter lives on Oahu. Then she told me that the wedding wasn't going to be until November. Unbelievable!!! I told her that my daughter's birthday was in November!!! And that I would love to go visit her on her birthday. So we talked a while longer. I told her that I could go visit my daughter for her birthday and while I was there I could make the wedding cake!! The nurse called her daughter (at 11:30 at night LOL) and confirmed the date. She said she will talk to her daughter about it and let me know icon_smile.gif That would just be soooooooooo cool!!! Who'd a thunk it??

I'm so excited I just wanted to share with y'all icon_biggrin.gif

You are so lucky!! Maybe you can write the whole trip off as a business expense for this cake!! Word of mouth has really been working for you! By the way, did you pick a name yet?

How wonderful! My niece was married on the Big Island a few weeks ago. I couldn't go, unfortunately. But, I sure wanted to. She had a terrible time finding someone to do a modest wedding cake for them. It was just six of them...immediate family. And none of the bakeries wanted to do anything small. So, they just ended up with a cake....nothing special about it. icon_sad.gif But, the beach wedding was lovely!

I like Peaches n' Cream Cakery. That's really cute. I also liked Suzy's Sweet Tooth, another name that someone suggested for you. Sounds like you're on your way! icon_biggrin.gif

WOW Susan!!!! icon_surprised.gifthumbs_up.gif That's what they call serendipity!! lol How awesome!!!?? If I had that chance, I would take complete advantage of the access you'll have to all those gorgeous tropical/indigenous flowers they have down there!! If not for the cake...you could use some to decorate the cake table?! You could try looking online for some bakeries/cakeries in Hawaii to glean some inspiration from. So excited for you!!!! thumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gificon_biggrin.gif

Thank you everyone. I am still waiting to hear back about the Wedding Cake order. The nurse lost my phone number (so now it's floating around the hospital!!! LOL). I gave it to her again and she is going to talk to her daughter. Either way I am going to go visit my daughter. Living in WA I never get to see family. The rest of my family lives in GA.
