I put it straight on as soon as the cookies come out of the oven and it kinda melts onto the cookie then once the cookie is cooled the MMF stiffens up again.......I love them like this!! So quick and easy.....if you look in my photos all the onesie cookies are done in MMF ....I don't know if I'll EVER do JUST royal icing ever again.....I like the instant gratification MMF gives you! lol
I also put it on them straight from the oven...you have to get all your ducks in a row ( fondant needs to be rolled and 'cut' with corresponding cutters that match the cookies in the oven).
The other cool thing is after the MMF is on the NFSC for a minute or two, it gets warm and is the perfect consistency to roll patterns, lace, etc... it will take the texture really well. I did that for the basketball cookies I am working on. And they are so dang yummy!
If, like me, you don't get the fondant ready in time, you can add it after by just moistening the back of the fondant and sticking it to the cookie.
A paint brush and a very little brush of water works fine. Or, you can use corn syrup, or even royal icing.
Hi! I had a great teacher ( she has a store ), and now I brush cookies with corn syrup before attaching the fondant : it is easy and clean and also does a perfect job! ![]()
