cakecrumb.....I would say yes to your question. In my region of Ohio sheet cake servings are usually 2x2" squares, and I also advertise 20-25 servings for a 9x13....so I would double that amount as you stated!

I would say that a 2 layer 9x13 would still feed about 20-25--I can't imagine getting more than that. It would be different if you had two 9x13 layers sitting next to each other---then your estimate would be about right. But just because the cake is twice as tall, doesn't mean they'll cut the pieces half the size. That would be a 1x1 piece!

How funny the only sheet cake I ever ate without filling was one I made and forgot to torte!!! Even the ones in grocery store have filling. And I just see it as a bigger canvas.

I use the Wilton serving sizes for the 2 layer cakes. 9x13 feeeds 45, 11x15 feeds 60, 12x18 feeds 72
