Pastry Pride. Has anyone ever tried this? Can it be done?

Thank you for any ideas!

Yes. It works. If you are coloring the whole batch, add it to the liquid before you beat it. If you color it after it has been whipped, take a small portion and mix the heck out of it. If the color (especially Wilton gels) isn't fully blended, as it sits you will get spots of unblended color.

But if the color is well blended, it works fine.

I find a liquid color blends easier, no dark spots as with paste or gel. Either airbrush color or even the little liquid cake colors from the grocers work but they are concentrated so start with just a drop or two until you reach the shade you are looking for.

Thank you both so much! I have a lot of family that is diabetic so I am trying to find some alternatives to the buttercream. I love the Pastry Pride. I am in my first Wilton class and was told by my instructor that it couldnt be colored. I knew if there was a way I would find it here! Thanks again and have a great day!
