this is embarrassing.....but I don't understand the instructions....the header on it says to mix two cake mixes seperate then mix them together....bu tthe recipe ...is that what you mix alone then add it to the 2 mixed together cake mixes?

If you just make one mix how much does the extender make it "extend".....

I feel so stupid....did I confuse an extremely easy recipe???? icon_redface.gif

You confused me! LOL. I have not read the directions on it yet, but I hope I get it when I make that recipe. LOL.

Post a link to the recipe. I haven't heard of mixing two mixes separately, then mixing them together, then adding more ingredients.

yep you read it right the first time. she did say that she makes them seperately and then pours them together. My only thought on this is that she didn't have a big enough mixing bowl on her mixer to be able to accomodate making both at the same time.
ok now to further confuse the heck out of you.... (just kidding), you make each batch seperately you know the mix with the extender ingredients and such and then she makes the next batch. the ingredients for the extender that she has given are for one box of mix. So, I just think that her mixing bowl wasn't big enough to mix both at the same time.

I believe she means she makes the recipe twice, then combines them as opposed to just doubling the recipe, for the larger 18" or slab cakes.

Im not understanding is she talking about one cake mix and then a mix of the recipe then mix those two together? Casue I'm reading it as mix two cake mixes (boxes) and then add them together....so Im not understanding where the recipe comes in......

You use one box of cake mix to make the recipe, then take another box and do it again icon_confused.gif .......then combine both completed recipes before baking - but only if you are doing a very large pan.

She means to follow the directions on the box of cake mix (1/2 cup oil, 1 cup water, 3 eggs) PLUS add the additional ingredients (sugar, flour, sour cream, etc). icon_smile.gif
