Help!!!!
I think that my very first Wedding Cake is going to be the Calla Lily Illusion Cake (or my interpretation of it LOL).
I need a book that tells how to make it or I need some very good instructions on how to make it. I know I could probably figure it out on my own but I'd rather have help. That way it is more likely not to fall over at the wedding!!! LOL

TIA

I know this is not going to be of much help, but a couple of months ago, I was visiting websites that were posted in a thread somewhere here. On one of those sites, there were instructions on how to do this type of cake. If memory serves correctly, you need to find a flat-bottomed, straight-sided glass vase to use as your separator containing the cut (flowerless) stems).

It seems the thread I'm talking about was specifically started to provide website containing really awesome cakes. I'll try looking for it for you. icon_smile.gif

More pics, but no instructions yet: http://www.dawnscake.com/weddings/2005/Ferguson-Prather.html

Duh, acrylic would work better than glass as it's much lighter. I couldn't find the site where I thought I had seen instructions! Sorry. icon_sad.gif

Wow icon_eek.gif great cake!

The cake at celebratecakes looks as if they have cut a big hole in each cake.
I think they used something like shown here
http://www.tortissimo.de/details.asp?gid=TORTENDEKORATIONEN~TORTENST%C4NDER&lang=de&aid=554030
Click on the picture to enlarge it. The single piece in the right corner is a cutter to make a proper hole in each layer.

In my opinion if you only put a vase in between it will sink into the cake.

That may very well work. However, I can't read the site. I only speak English icon_sad.gif Can you find out what it is called so maybe I can find info on it here on the internet? If there is enough space between each plate this just might work very nicely

You can change language in the upper right corner!

It says "Gâteau stand"!

I'm going to search a bit trough the internet and let you know what I can find out for you!
