This Shrek cake has proven to be a nightmare/challenge! I'm about to say forget it! I finally got the cake to actually bake in the silicone mold. How long do you usually let silicone cake ware cool before attempting to take it out? This cake mold is a bit different than the usually round or square. I greased the mold up with cake release fairly heavy so I'm keeping my fingers crossed! My instructor always told us to let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes. I know silicone tends to hold the heat. My first attmept produces a batter mess literally, the second I filled the mold halfway and actually got a head and some facial features, so I'm hoping the third time is a charm! Any tips would be so appreciated at this point.

whenever I used the silicone I would let it cool to about a look warm feel and then flip it out. I flipped it out once too soon and it split in half. I now no longer use the silicone because they are such a pain to clean icon_lol.gif

Sorry I cant answer the original question but I have to agree with the above quote. My best friend gave me a silicone rose "cupcake" like pan thingy. Greasing all the ridges and indention's is a pain and the roses didnt turn out so well.

Whew, just avoided wasting some $! Thank you, I was about to purchase some silicon pans just out of curiosity - not now!
