Stupid Question...please Help! Yellow Cake To Choc?

I need to make a chocolate cake right away, but I only have yellow cake mix on hand, can I add baking cocoa to it? if so, then how much do I add? please help! thank you!!

I'm sorry, I don't know the answer.

But if you are stuck and you have a can of Hersheys cocoa powder, I have heard that there is an excellent recipe on the can for chocolate cake (if you have the ingredients). It is supposed to be foolproof.

Yah know, it's kinda funny. I was searching the recipes for a doctored chocolate cake mix and ran across one that said chocolate cake from a white cake mix. I'm sure it would work the same for your yellow cake mix.

Haven't tried this, but if you add a chocolate pudding and some cocoa, I bet that would work. You'd have to add an extra egg and maybe some more milk -- I would use milk instead of water.

about 3/4 cup of cocoa or a box of choc pudding and 1/2 c cocoa...or just add it until the batter tastes right

thank you all so much!!!! I will go ahead and add 3/4 cup of cocoa to the yellow cake mix...i hope it turns out good!
