I would like a copy if you wouldn't mind pm me too. I've designed several of my own forms, invoices, business cards and such but have not tackled a reporting system as of yet. Thanks a bunch Pam from Bama

My accountant I will be working with to set up my business is suggesting I use Peachtree. It is a little more advanced than quickbooks (which she said would be a good starter) but I can get more information out of it? Then again it may be her preference to work with Peachtree instead of quickbooks.

My BF went through the local SCORE last year to set up his business and they gave him free quicken software to get started. You may want to check with your local chapter and see if you can get a copy.

I know from experience that Microsoft Money is easy to use for a beginner. I would personally use Quickbooks.

leily,

I am an accountant and we generally prefer Peachtree - that is propbably why she recommended it. IMHO, Quickbooks is probably easier for most people, especially if you are used to using either Quicken or Microsoft Money. Peachtree does have a lot more capability in the way of reports and such than Quickbooks - at least in my personal experience with both. Peachtree can be more expensive, but they run specials in Staples (office supply store) that it can sometimes be virtually free (after rebates). If you use an accountant/tax preparer or think you ever will, I would purchase Peachtree. I hope I don't regret this, but if anyone purchases Peachtree and has a real problem trying to figure something out, PM me and I will try my best to help. I use it everyday and am very proficient in it.

I would agree, as an accountant (though not a CPA) I used Peachtree when I worked for a small company, I found it very easy to use, and its where I would head if I ever wanted to start my own business.

Good luck!

thank you everyone, i was looking at quicken and almost bought it this morning i will take a look at peachtree now as i do plan to find a cpa.

i use cakeboss and its great for orders and customers, but i want somewhere to keep track of what im spending, reciepts for ingredients, boards and boxes and other expenses. i think both, cakeboss and an accounting software is what i will have to use.

and if i have problems i surely will PM you, thank you for that offer.

I use Quick Books - It does everything - sales receipts, invoices, inventory, estimate, etc...

Good investment and easy to use.
