I just bought a new box last week and they are different. They're super slick. I DON'T like them. thumbsdown.gif Any on else noticed the difference?

YES! This has been bothering me for awhile and I kept meaning to check to see if someone else has commented on this. What a pain in the keister. Their new silicone-coated bags (or whatever they're using) make it very difficult to keep the bags together. And then when I try to tape them together for extra support, the tape comes right off too. What a waste of money. Can someone recommend another brand of pre-cut parchment triangles to make pastry bags? I know I can make them myself, but prefer this convenience!

That's great that you mentioned this.

I had a student return a box of these super-slick parchment triangles to the store and pick up the "old" box of them (pink box).

Her parchment bags would not stay together - and I was the one making them!

Something is definitely wrong with those bags. Everyone else in my classes bought the pink boxes and theirs were fine.

I even left one of the super-slick ones in the inbox of the other cake teacher at my store to show her how screwy they were.

It's time for everyone who bought these defective parchment triangles to call Wilton, because if they don't fix them, we're in trouble. I will NOT fight the slick ones.

I'm glad I'm not alone.
I wondered about stapling them to help hold them together!

Nice to know we're not the only ones. It is so frustrating when you're ready to pipe and your bag breaks open. How do they even sell this crap? Don't they test this stuff?
I am going to write them later and complain. I believe I looked the last time I was at AC Moore and they only had the new ones..didn't have the old ones anymore..

Wilton is doing a recall on these parchment bags....there was a bad batch that went out...take them back to the store they were purchased from for a full refund. The store should be aware of the problem by now. HTH. Good Luck

I usually but Ateco brand from my local but I was pressed for time when I bought some of the Parchment Triangles from Wilton. Too slick, won't hold tape either.

I was having a real hard time while trying to work w/Chocolate Transfers.

I guess Michael's wil be getting a call from me. thumbs_up.gif

Thanks for posting. I just bought some and I'm glad I decided to read this forum. I would have been extremely frustrated as I haven't bought them previously. I either made them or used plastic.

I did 3 cakes this weekend and was able to staple the bags, but still had trouble down at the tip end if I didn't use a coupler. I did't have anything else available to use. I will be returning this box to Hobby Lobby!
