The most common is a cream cheese filling and also a whipped cream filling and you can find both of these in the recipe section. I think it just depends on personal preference but I would go with the cream cheese, it's the most popular. HTH : )

you could always do the usual cream cheese filling... or if you like the nutty flavor, flavor some buttercream maybe in black wlanut or something.... then just ice in cream cheese.... just a thought!

I grew up on Red velvets, we didn't use fillings, just put a layer of the cream cheese icing in between.. a filling might be interesting!

People love it when I put cheese cake mousse in my red velvet cakes! and than I use the cream cheese icing on.

If you want to cheat a little, there is a pre-made cheesecake filling by Philly Cream Cheese. It comes in a tub and is ready to eat. YUMMY and it's already done for you. I'd add a little vanilla and a pinch of salt to make it taste more homemade.

There is also a cheesecake flavor extract from LorAnn that adds a bit of flavor to a buttercream filling.

Thank everyone for the great suggestions. I live way in the country so I went to town early and got the pudding and cream cheese. But I will try the ready made and flavoring in future. Thanks again.
