I have both, but would recommend the 600. Do you have a Bed Bath & Beyond coupon?

We don't have a BB&B here icon_sad.gif

The thing that concerns me with the 600 is that I've been reading about the plastic housing on the metal gearbox. Anyone have any insight on that?

http://www.everythingkitchens.com/kitchen_aid_pro_600.html

pro 600, free shipping, price is 339.95 plus you get 30.00 rebate cupon and 1 year subscription to magazine.
That would make it 309.95 + tax.

I didn't want to do the refurb because they only had a 6 month warranty versus 1 year...... and right now I'm dealing with 4 computer hardware repairs on my laptop in 1 year ......so I like warranties LOL But, they are DEFINITELY cheaper!!

I'd definitely do the green one if my kitchen wasn't country blue LOL

I got my Pro 600 in January from Amazon.com at about $360.00 and I love it!!!!
I mix 3 cake mix boxes at a time, or a recipe for buttercream calling for 4 lbs powdered sugar. But if you're just mixing one box at a time it's too big. That's why I still have my 4.5 Qt classic KA.

i read that they started making them with metal now. i think i saw that on CC somewhere, but can't remember where. I think i read thats why there are so many refurbs of the 600. the plastic was breaking and they would replace with metal, but now don't make them plastic anymore....
