I wish I did this cake with a darker yellow to make the white fence stand out more. Should I do something to the fence to make it stand out or should I just leave it alone?? It's my first clothesline/picketfence cake and I feel like the fence just blends too well into the yellow (ya know what I mean?).

Please give me honest opinions. The only thing I could think of was going over the whole outline of the fence with an edible black or brown marker to make it stand out. Maybe that would be too bad?? I need some help??

I think it looks fine. I wouldn't add black to it at all. I thionk the fence stands out just fine. JMO

According to the picture, the fence stands out nicely.

I like a fence with a few more pickets, closer together, but you did a nice job.

The clothes on the line are just adorable.

No, it totally stands out! I like the way it looks!! The only thing that might have been cuter is to make the cake light blue like the sky... but it's just perfect the way it is!!

Edited to add: I'm sorry, when I read my response, it sounded horrible... I didn't mean the blue would be CUTER, I meant it would stand out more! I'm sorry about that. It is absolutely gorgeous the way it is!!

Thank you all for your support. My DH said the same thing, but of course I don't listen to him. I needed opinions from the real experts - YOU! Thank you for your kind comments. The little bird idea was actually from my client. She made picket fences for the baby shower favors and she had little birds on them and asked if I could put 2 birds on the cake.

Thanks again for everything!

Mariatamia, the clothes are made of fondant. I just used the Wilton's cutters for some of them and eyeballed the rest (onsies, bibs, etc.).

Adorable! I wouldn't change a thing. In fact, I think a darker yellow would have taken away from the light feeling of the cake. You did an excellent job, don't change anything!
