My brother in law recently eloped and we are meeting his wife for the first time tomorrow! In honor of the occasion, I decided to make them a small wedding cake today. Here is the result. Definitely NOT my best work. It was my first time using a non-crusting whipped cream frosting and boy, is this stuff unforgiving. However, since it's just for us to eat at home, I decided that it's the thought that counts!
I hope the bride likes it! What do you think?
Wow, that's a pretty darn good looking cake, for being a "last minute cake". Great job, I'm sure they will both love it. Looks nicer than the cake I paid a bakery to do for mine, 28years ago!
The bride will love it! And what a sweet way to welcome her into your family.
Only you will see the imperfection in it. Everyone else will just think it's a wonderful surprise; your new SIL will probably cry or scream be it that she's not expecting a full sized wedding cake the day she meets her in-laws for the first time! Great Job!
That is a very nice and wonderful way to welcome her into your family. I'm sure everyone will love it. I haven't worked with that icing yet, but I can imagine how hard it is to smooth. It's my favorite icing ever. MMMMMMM
Very pretty! I'm sure they are going to love it.
It looks really yummy and pretty! I like that pink on white look. Definitely a great surprise for the new couple
The only imperfections I can see are with smoothing and with the whipped cream, it just makes it look more appetizing ![]()
As Rachel Ray would say, Yum-o! ![]()
That's a beautiful cake! I'm sure they will love it and love the thought that you did that for them!
