I understand your frustration! I definitely can relate. My SIL used to drive me crazy--not so much her, but her kids really drove me nuts and then one day I realized that this is a temporary condition. I might even miss it one day! The kids will grow up and move far, far away (in my little dreamworld, anyway) and we'll both be involved with different activities--those times of stopping by uninvited will not last forever.

I suspect that your SIL is jealous of you--and probably not just your skills as a cake decorator. Obviously, she likes being around you for some reason (undoubtedly your sparkling personality) and I would try and take it as a compliment. Would it be possible to put her to work covering cake boards or washing tips or something? Maybe get her to knock out some royal icing flowers or decorations to save for a future cake?

Hang in there! I'm very impressed you managed to wait to vent here in this forum and not at SIL! This too shall pass!

LMAO @ Kiddie, then why let her in? LOL... Tell her you are "Fixing" to leave (I just learnt that from Turtleshell). Oh do what I do sometimes, peep out then pretend I'm not home. Make sure the cell phone is on vibrate. And threaten to duct tape the kids mouths if they dont keep quiet LOL... ok that's bad... icon_biggrin.gificon_evil.gif Hmmm, family trip to the washroom would work too.. This way you Can pretend you did not hear the door.

Forget it LOL... do what I have done on numerous occasion, just tell her you don't feel like having company over at the moment. Feel free to call
before popping in the next time.

I feel your pain I have a few friends just like that. I call them my bad odour friends, they linger long than you want them to.....

Gee, makes me glad I don't drink coffee. LOL. Actually, no one ever drops by my house. Even my mother calls before coming by (lives 2 miles away), ok, so she calls from my driveway, but calls none-the-less. Hahaha. More power to ya ladies!

O.K. so what time is coffee time,icon_razz.gif Just in case!!!

I know what you mean though, my mother has an uncanny ability to only phone when I'm at the best part of a good show, heading to the washroom, at an exciting part of my book, or I am in the middle of icing, painting or glueing something. And she can talk about nothing for a long time. Don't get me wrong I love and adore my mother, just wish she could find a better sense of timing. icon_rolleyes.gif

But the reality is I am glad for our closeness and figure some where someone is probably thinking the same thing or close about my timing. icon_confused.gif

Be grateful you have a SIL you can get along with as I have had a couple of real headcases icon_evil.gificon_mad.gif married to two of my brothers. Now thankfully they are both with wonderful ladies party.gif but the earlier ones were real (words cannot describe) !!!
