I have a birthday cake I am making and there are fondant pieces I need to put on. The cake is not going to be covered in fondant but just icing. How do I put pieces on it. Does the icing need to be dried or still wet. Any help needed. Is there any pictures in the gallery I could see that has just fondant pieces. Thanks

I use a little dab of icing as a glue to apply my fondant pieces to iced cakes. I've also used water as well as clear vanilla ~ but those are better for fondant on fondant. Hope this helps.

The two tiered whimsical Cat cake in my photos was iced in buttercream and the fondant pieces placed on after it was slightly crusted and smoothed with a Viva towel. There was no problem with them adhering. HTH.
