I know it's hard. I have 1 brother in navy, a nephew in marines and a nephew in air force. Just know that we all thank you for giving your son to our country.

Thank you gilson6, He's actually my grandson but he was born when his mom & dad were just 16
(I know) So I basically raised him along with the rest of the kids.

maxiecakes - I feel for you! My husband is Navy and he's gone out twice for six monthers. We're on an airbase so he's home now, but it's not an easy life - for the military members or their family. !!!!

I can't even imagine, I grew up on an air force base (my dad was in the air force) and I loved it.......but it wasn't during anywhere near a time like this, there was no war........not even a chance of one as far as we could tell..........I commend all of the men and women serving our country right now more than ever.......they are included in my prayers every single day!!!!

These are indeed troubled times, I know this is silly but when J.R. was born I remember thinking Oh my gosh he's got the most perfect little hands I've ever seen! I thought the same thing again when he was waving good-bye, blowing kisses and doing the
''I'll call you sign. Im so very sad (and silly.)
