Freezing A Decorated Cake For 2 Days???
Decorating By briansbaker Updated 2 Mar 2006 , 3:52pm by briansbaker
I have a cake due for Saturday evening.. BUT I will be busy these next few days.. Can I ice the cake (already made and frozen) frozen and then keep in the fridge until Sat. Or should I keep it frozen (decorated) and just take it out Sat. Morning.. It's an 11x15 sheet cake torted and filled and covered with BC.. TIA
Freeze it decorated. The icing is going to help keep in the moisture.
Hi!
The biggest problem I had with freezing an iced cake, was the condensation that formed when it began to unthaw. It became such an issue, that I no longer freeze my cakes, I put them in the refrigerator now.
I have never froze an uniced cake before, but if it is saran-wrapped well, I don't see why that wouldn't work either.
