My hubby is managing my older kid's Tball team and the league is having a gift basket auction. I agreed to make a princess doll cake to go with a princess birthday party basket, because the basket & cake will need to sit out all night during the entire event, I won't be around to guard it and we all know how people just *need* to poke cakes icon_rolleyes.gif I really don't want the winner of the auction to be grossed out by a manhandled and damaged cake or have to box up the cake so nobody gets a good look it and possibly bid less.

I am thinking it would be best to provide a dummy cake and bake the winner a fresh, real cake at a later time.

Any ideas where I could find a piece of styrofoam shaped like the doll cake? Or maybe I could just cover the pan itself in saran wrap, stick the doll pick in the hole and decorate that?

I think with a little extra fondant, you could use a large 1/2 round, Or a smaller 1/2 round on top of a same size styro circle.
