There's a website, howtoairbrush.com. Try looking there. It's a great place for beginners! Good luck!

Mix the color with a little vodka and try it out. I dont think there is an exact science (except for the obvious things like yellow & red make orange kindof science)
I think you just need to try it until you get the color you want.

Don't use water, it's affect on your icing may ruin all your hard work. As above stated use vodka, it's clear and low on the sugar scale. Don't use dark or high sugar liquers! I don't know about you but I paid a very pretty penny for my airbrush (not to mention the other penny for the compressor!), and don't need to keep replacing the needle because of a clogging problem. I always use vodka and mix a 'bigger than I think I'll need' batch on the side. (I like babyfood jars) Depending on the area I'm working determines wether I use the bottom or top feeds - top feed for small, bottom jar feed for larger areas. I rinse/spray with water between colors and I'm off and running again. I also recommend using a small piece of paper to protect areas you have already painted from over spray.
I wish I was a little more on the ball - I just started taking pictures of my work and don't have any of my airbrushing - only my fondant, and I'm a newborn to that.
Good luck and remember to take a picture AND post it for us.
